Welcome to the Internet home of the twin SCRABBLE® clubs of the Twin Cites of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota. The National SCRABBLE® Association's club number 42 is one the oldest and largest official SCRABBLE® clubs in North America and meets every Tuesday on the west side of the Mississippi River in south Minneapolis. Club 651 is one of the NSA's newest clubs and meets every Thursday night on the east side of the Mississippi in the Saint Paul suburb of Roseville. Twin Cities Fall 2007 Tourney:
Joe Gaspard hogged division one honors, following his Friday Early Bird win
with a first place finish in division one of the two-day Main Event. Other
winners: Cal Cooper (division two, Early Bird), Bob Prentiss (division two,
Main Event), Niko Tomlinson (division three, Main Event), and Rhonda Sjodahl
(division four, Main Event). See Director's

2007 World SCRABBLE® Championship: Mumbai, India :
Nigel Richards of New Zealand is the 2007 world champion after defeating
Ganesh Asirvatham of Maylasia in the the best-of-five finals. Twin Cities
club members Tim Adamson and Jim Kramer were among fifteen U.S. representatives.
Tim's 16-8, 8th-place finish topped the United States team. Jim finished
24th of 100 players with a 14-10 mark.See the official tournament site for full coverage of the event. "Dells Spells" 2007: Joe Gaspard took division one in the 24th annual "Dells Spells" event. Bob Prentiss, Aditya Kini, and Bob Antolak finished atop divisions two through four in the October 13-14 main event. In a Friday night early bird tournament -- a NAST qualifier -- Lisa Slankard placed first in a field of eighteen. See tournament results page for complete standings and links to cross-tables. Minnesota 155, Wisconsin 109: Minnesota crossed the St. Croix to take on Wisconsin in their own backyard (Black River Falls, WI), and for the second year in a row brought back the travelling trophy. Wisconsin's Andy Bohnsack took individual honors in division one, while Minnesota's Janice Kaye won eleven of twelve games to top division two. The 2006 SCRABBLE® Open
CHAMPION!
Club 42's own, Jim Kramer, is the 2006 U.S. SCRABBLE® Open Champion! His 21-7 record topped the Division One field by two full games in the 28-game tournament, and then in the best-of-five championship playoff, he swept three straight games from Geoff Thevenot to claim the title!
